The left-handed opener reached this milestone in his 67th inning, breaking the previous record set by his captain, Babar Azam, who had taken 68 innings to achieve the same feat.

After Zaman, Hope, Azam, and Amla, the fifth spot is occupied by another legend, Sir Vivian Richards, who reached 3000 ODI runs in 69 innings.
